Dear visitors – welcome to our GEOstata Blog.
“What is GEOstata?”
- GEOstata was founded in Oct 2015 and has set itself the goal of publishing visualized representations of different and interesting statistical data, mostly in form of thematic maps. Furthermore we aim to transmit partially complex data tables in clear and simplified representations to the general public for free.
- We think that our social media platforms offer us a good opportunity to connect with our followers and subscribers. To stay updated and get the latest maps and statistics please like and follow us on our social media platforms.
Founder & Editor-in-chief
“As a graduate in geography (BSc) and human geography – Global Studies (MA) i was always interested in the study of economic, political and cultural interconnectedness. Maps and charts are giving us the opportunity to visualize the so-called globalization with its changes and effects of human activity to the global economy, politics, environment and many more topics.
I’ve founded GEOstata in 2015 as a platform for people who are interested in (human) geography and the global change.”
“It’s important to understand that it’s not “our” mother-earth, but we use it and we have to give something back. So you can use maps to make politically, economically or another current themes accessible and clear to the society. With the visualization in maps our world can be understood quickly and problems may be recognized at an early stage. I look forward to visualizing the statistics you want!”
“Maps were my motivation to study human geography. Maps allow us to visualize data by different topics and make them analyzable very quickly. There is no better option to see and understand spatial relationships than a map. By the combination of geodata and statistics we hopefully get a better view on current problems.”
We are looking for more Editors to enhance our team. If you are a GIS-Specialist or have experience in creating (thematic) maps including statistical data please feel free to contact us via our contact form for further information.
